Giant footsteps

This morning I started to empty the wardrobe in Joshua’s bedroom as his clothes were not fitting in. I emptied it completely and right at the back I found his first pair of Clark’s trainers and his original splint, with a planet design on it. There’s no practical reason for keeping either but I cannot part with them.
It was this splint that got Joshua up and walking, when he was around 18 months old. It held his right leg in the right position to give him confidence to stride out and soon he was running! It is symbolic of a huge milestone in his development and of the huge strides that he has made in his life. And so it is staying in the wardrobe with other precious items from his early days.
